Anemoi Marine Technologies, a wind-assisted propulsion specialist, has recently secured a significant milestone in the development of its rotor sail technology. The company has obtained design approvals from Bureau Veritas, a renowned marine classification society, for several variants of its rotor sails. The approved rotor sail designs include fixed and rail-deployed models measuring 3.5 meters by 24.5 meters, featuring explosion-proof versions and shorter variants tailored for vessels with air draft restrictions. Additionally, Anemoi is making progress towards Bureau Veritas approval for larger fixed and folding 5-meter by 35-meter rotor sails, further expanding the company's product portfolio.
These approvals from Bureau Veritas, alongside certifications from DNV, Lloyd's Register, and ClassNK, provide shipowners with enhanced flexibility when specifying wind-assisted propulsion systems for both newbuilds and retrofit projects.
